About the artist

TIM BRAATEN is a Southern California artist specializing in fine pencil illustration.  During his senior year in high school, Tim received a scholarship to attend Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, California.  He then went on to receive his Bachelor of Arts degree from California State University, Fullerton.  In 1999, Tim moved to Los Angeles to further pursue his career as an illustrator and has since become owner and operator of Creative Edge Design Studio specializing in logo design, book cover design as well as illustration.

Tim's passion for detailed illustration combined with his interest in music inspired him to embark on a continuing series of portraits that pay tribute to performers who have helped shape the great American musical form known as the Blues.  His work has been sold to Blues lovers worldwide and has received the praise of many notable Blues performers including B.B. King, Jimmie Vaughan, and Kenny Wayne Shepherd.  He has also established himself as a portrait artist of many celebrities and musicians including actors Bob Odenkirk and Neve Campbell, as well as musician/singers Ian Astbury and Moby.
